The Rensselaer County, Columbia County and Washington County Democratic Committees are currently accepting resumes from candidates interested in running for the vacant 107th District Assembly seat. The district includes parts of Rensselaer, Columbia and Washington counties (see below map for more details).
As of now, the Governor has yet to schedule the special election to fill the seat vacated by Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin.
In order to be eligible to run for the State Assembly, you must be at least 18 years of age, a resident of the state for five years, and a resident of the district for 12 months immediately preceding the election.
